Gretchin Quill

Gretchen Quill, affectionately known as “Nurse Gee,” is a lifelong Hudson Valley resident and a dedicated nursing professional with over 15 years of experience serving vulnerable and high-risk populations. She began her nursing career at SUNY Orange, later earning her BSN in 2017 and her MS in Nursing Education in 2021. Her experience spans psychiatric nursing, correctional health, and school health, where she continues to advocate for safety, equity, and student well-being.

Gretchen is the first African American nurse in the Highland Central School District and the second in Poughkeepsie CSD. She has been honored for lifesaving assistance and community service and holds leadership roles as a founding member and co-county chair of the Hudson Valley New York National Black Nurses Association and as president of the Kappa Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. Her work reflects a deep commitment to elevating the voices of Black nurses and improving health outcomes in disenfranchised communities.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Gretchen is a passionate community advocate. She has contributed to educational justice efforts with the Newburgh Parent Alliance and remains active in faith-based service as a member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Beacon, NY. Guided by gratitude, humility, and her belief in serving humanity, Gretchen strives each day to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
